ABFP & IBOP

Grading of the IBOP and ABFP

Along with inspections, aptitude tests (ABFP & IBOPS) are an important selection tool for Friesian horses. For stallions, the Performance Test (Central Examination) is a key ingredient in the approval of stallions (Stallion Inspection Regulations). For mares, the results in ABFP and IBOP (Regulations ABFP, respectively IBOP) are contributory factors for awarding predicates.

Furthermore, the results of aptitude tests will be added to the horse’s predicate in the following way:
i. 73 through to 76.5: A
ii. 77 through to 81.5: AA
iii. 82 and higher: AAA

ABFP Test and Explanation

The objective of the ABFP test is to provide an objective way to establish aptitude as a dressage and/or driving and/or show driving horse.
